E-commerce & Social Media

Ecommerce is one of the foremost phases of the next business century. This concept is defined as the act of conducting business transactions over the web — a simple yet encompassing and comprehensive definition. Currently, many people and businesses are using social media consultants in their ecommerce efforts. As many businesses are realizing, Social Media Optimization (SMO) is one of the most effective ways to improve one’s business.  The problem is consultants are expensive.

One challenge any business might encounter in selling product online is to get people to actually notice and eventually buy the product. This is where marketing and advertising come into play. Years ago, marketing and advertising were done through the traditional use of print media, television, and radio advertisements. Those are things of the past; online marketing and advertising is the language business people speak of these days. A majority of businesses today turn to social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn as social media advertising is fast becoming the most effective way to market products and services online.

According to Facebook’s statistics page, it has over 800 million active users, 50 percent of which log on in any given day. These people spend over 700 billion minutes per month doing things such as posting content, making new friends, and reading up on the companies and Products they’ve “Liked”.  Twitter, meanwhile, has 175 million registered accounts, with people sending an average of 140 million tweets per day. Just imagine if you could tap that market; many companies are already trying to. According to the same source, “entrepreneurs and developers from over 190 countries build with the Facebook platform”, while social media experts and business owners use Twitter to send Tweets about their #products and #services, along with many other methods.
