Blogs: The big 3 -Blogger – Tumblr – WordPress
What is a Blog? Explanation from Wikipedia.
A blog (a portmanteau of the term web log) is a personal journal published on the World Wide Web consisting of discrete entries (“posts”) typically displayed in reverse chronological order so the most recent post appears first. Blogs are usually the work of a single individual, occasionally of a small group, and often are themed on a single subject. Blog can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.
What is a Blog in Social MarCom laymen’s terms?
A Blog is the greatest thing since ballpoint pen. The reason we say this is a Blog gives you the ability to put your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, knowledge, passion and experience in written (well really typed) word for the world to see. Blogs are the best form of content because it is keyword rich, which will help you be found through the Search Engines. Social Media Networking has really taken Blogging to another level, you can now promote your blog through your various networks on Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin for example. We also believe in using multiple blog sources (having a few blogs – Blogger, Tumblr and WordPress), they are all free and you can post the same content, different blogs have different followers. Go set up Blogs on Blogger, Tumblr and WordPress, use your brand as the URL, upload logos and do simple customization as far as background colors. Then use My Social Mashup to push content to all of them in one click! (Yes, this is a shameless plug, but we built My Social Mashup for this exact reason)

Registration tips (The Name):
Most blogs allow you to select a custom prefix. For example, yourname.wordpress.com. Trying your best to have the same name on all of your blogs, as well as social networking accounts is recommended, however, sometimes can be frustrating. We recommend using the website - http://knowem.com/
Knowem allows you to search all of the Blogs, Social Media sites and even URL’s to see if that name is available and on which networks.
Type of content to make available:
All types of content are usable in a blog. Text being the most common, and is full of Keywords. However, audio, video, pictures and images can really get your readers engaged.
